Our Pastors

Lead Pastor Karen Bruins

Reverend Karen Bruins is a 14 year resident of Rosemount and enjoys being active in the community. She is married and the mother of four boys.

Karen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources Management from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities.

She is an ordained Elder in the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and has been serving in parish ministry since being ordained in 1989. Previously she served Edgewater-Emmanuel UMC and Asbury UMC in Minneapolis. She has been serving at Rosemount UMC since 1995.

Karen’s passion in ministry is helping people make the head-heart-hand connection; knowing God, loving God and serving God through “hands on” ministry. Karen has a special interest in connecting people in the suburbs with ministry and the people of the core cities.

Her greatest joy in ministry is the people and considers it a privilege to serve at Rosemount UMC.

Associate Pastor Brooke Heerwald Steiner

Reverend Brooke Heerwald Steiner began serving at Rosemount UMC in 2007. A native of Minnesota, she currently lives in Farmington with her husband and two dogs.

Brooke has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in psychology and a Masters of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago. She is currently a commissioned minister in the Minnesota Annual Conference. Rosemount UMC is her first appointment, and it has been delightful!

Brooke particularly enjoys the ministries of teaching, preaching, social justice, and youth. She loves watching ministry happen naturally from within the congregation and is inspired to be surrounded by such faithful and energetic people. In her spare time, you’ll often find her reading, writing, running, eating sweets, or cheering on her Blue Devils during basketball season.
