A special announcement from the FLC Logistics Team

Sunday September 9th, 2007 is a monumental day in the history of Rosemount UMC. On that day. the Family Life Center (FLC) will officially become the sacred worship space for the 10:30am Sunday contemporary service AND the Sanctuary will begin it’s new role as the home of the all new 10:30am Sunday traditional service!

This project started with a member survey in May of 2006 that revealed Rosemount UMC needed to make room for the growing number of people that God is bringing to our church. Members also wanted the option of a later traditional service on Sunday mornings.

Since the summer of 2006, a team of dedicated people have been diligently working to address the issues involved with the Family Life Center expansion. A portion of funds from the Capital Campaign have been used to transform the FLC into a warm, sacred worship space. This includes a state of the art sound system, brand new comfortable chairs, staging, decorations, a fresh coat of paint and a host of other amenities. The look, sound and feel of the FLC will be incredible!

Even though the FLC will be a sacred worship space on Sunday mornings, all chairs and equipment will be moved and stored after each service. Our wonderful FLC will continue to provide you with space to work out and be available for the garage sale and many other special events.

As a congregation we have embraced the vision that every person in our community would experience God through engaging worship. The Family Life Center is about to fulfill that vision - ‘So All May Worship’. Please, spread the word. Tell a friend, relative or new neighbor that Rosemount UMC is ready to welcome them home!

If you have questions or would like to volunteer for any number of new worship service positions, please contact the Rosemount UMC office today at (651) 423-2475.

We look forward to seeing you in church!

From the So All May Worship Capital Campaign Committee

Members and Friends of Rosemount UMC:

During the last few months we have been involved in an exciting journey to consider carefully and prayerfully how we can respond to God’s great commission “to go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Our goal has been to seek ways to provide more opportunities “so that all may worship” and grow in their faith.

At this point it is time to provide our first update on the status of where we are headed now, the priority decisions that have been made, and the implementation of those programs and projects over the next few months to increase the impact God has in the lives of families and individuals in our area.

Financial Resources Available:

As of July 15, 2007 we have received a total of $850,000 in pledges and contributions that will be received over the next 3 years. We are very grateful to all who participated for the joyful and sacrificial response to the “So All May Worship” campaign. You can be sure that careful planning and investigation will be used to maximize the benefits that will be generated from your giving.

The most exciting news is that we have received over 25% of the total 3 year commitments as of the 15th of July! This will be an enormous help in moving forward with the expansion of worship opportunities and minimizing the short term borrowing costs. We are truly grateful for your efforts to provide these resources early. While we did not receive sufficient funds to complete all of the tasks that were identified in the capital campaign, the vision is still alive and we will find ways to make continuous progress. We will continue to provide updates on our progress over the three year period to keep you informed on new resources as well as progress in the completion of the pledges made.

Priority Decisions

The Ad Council has carefully considered the proposed projects and programs and balanced them against the financial resources that will be available from the campaign. The result is the following budget allocations:

Expanded Worship

$453,000 Includes Staffing, FLC improvements and equipment

Boiler Replacement

$150,000

Tithing

$ 85,000

Other Needs

$162,000 Includes Outreach, Short Term Borrowing and Misc equip.

Total 3 Year Budget:

$850,000

Schedule of Completion

Schedules were carefully planned to achieve the most benefit from the cash on hand and minimize the cost of short term borrowing.

By September: Several teams have been hard at work preparing for the start of new worship services and the expansion of worship activities into the Family Life Center (FLC). Physical improvements are underway to make the FLC a great place to worship. Major elements include sound abatement treatments for the walls, painting, cleaning, and window treatments. Equipment needed will be sound and lighting systems, chairs, risers, musical instruments and other miscellaneous pieces of equipment.

By December: Bids are being taken now to complete the replacement of our boilers as quickly as possible

In future updates we will provide information about the details of the Outreach, Tithing, and other plans

We will see Jesus through the eyes of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and see how each Gospel writer weaves the Gospel message in a unique way, using commonly known stories by and about Jesus. So, for 32 weeks we will look at the four Gospels together, enriching our picture of Jesus and deepening our faith in Him. Weekly discussion will be held in D-121, Thursdays, 7:00-9:30 p.m., beginning September 20th. Contact: Rick Ormsby (507) 333-2770

Please check the rack inside the kitchen door and take home any dishes that belong to you.
