Elevation Youth Ministries:

CLASS OF 2008 begins on Sunday, Feb. 3rd from 8-9:30pm upstairs in the Attic. This group is for Seniors in High School. Hope you can come and join us as this series begins. ALL Seniors in High School are more than welcome to join us!!

 

NO SR. HIGH YOUTH on Sunday, Feb. 3rd! This is Super Bowl day! Enjoy some time with your family and friends and enjoy the game! Sr. High youth will resume next week on Sunday, Feb. 10th from 6-8pm upstairs in the Attic!

 

NO Club 78 on Wednesday, Feb. 6th – We encourage you to join us for our Ash Wednesday worship! Club 78 will resume on Wednesday, Feb. 13th – Missionary Greg Strock will be joining us that evening! C U Then!

 

MISSION TRIPS FOR SUMMER OF 2008! There is still time to sign up for either the High School Mission trip to Chicago (July 6th – 12th) or the Middle School Mission trip to Duluth (June 15th – 20th).. The deadline has come and gone but we still have 2 open spots for Duluth this summer and 8 spots left for Chicago!  You still have time to sign up…this is first come first serve opportunity! These trips will change your life!! Don’t think…sign up today and step out of your comfort zone and go! (Registration forms are available at the bottom of the stairs in the file folder on the left wall of the stairwell that leads up to the Attic.)

 

NOOMA Night is coming! Monday, Feb. 4th from 6-7pm upstairs in the Attic! Join us for another installment of NOOMA night for 8th & 9th graders and their mentors. Confirmands… please turn in your covenant forms! We have a few but still need some! If you are involved in confirmation…remember it is your responsibility to find a mentor if you don’t have one! This is an important part of your confirmation experience!

 

Class of 2008 is just around the corner!!! – If you are a senior this year please join us for “Class of 2008”! This program begins on Sunday, February 3rd from 8-9:30pm upstairs in the ATTIC!

 

Hey Sr. High students – UMY’s 2008 is coming! UMY’s is happening March 14th – 16th in St. Cloud! Join over 1,000 High School Students from across Minnesota for a weekend of worship, workshops, great friends and food! Registrations are available upstairs in the ATTIC if you are interested! Don’t think….just sign up and go!! Registrations are due no later than February 3rd.

Join us Wednesday evening for the beginning of our Lenten journey with the Sacrament of Communion and Imposition of  Ashes.

 

FREE SOUP & BREAD ON ASH WEDNESDAY – Please join the Pasta on Wednesdays ministry for a free soup and bread meal prior to the Ash Wednesday service on Feb. 6. While there is no charge for this meal, pre-registration is required so we know how much soup and bread to have on hand. Please sign-up at the Pasta on Wednesdays table in the Narthex or by calling the church office by 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. The meal will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

ROSEMOUNT UMC IS SEEKING A WEEKEND CUSTODIAN.  This  2-3 hours per day position on Saturdays & Sundays, requires cleaning and preparing the church building for worship.  If you would like more information regarding this position, please contact Tami Luckhardt at 651-423-2475, ext. 206.

 

SEW TABLECLOTHS AND BOOK BAGS…On Tuesday, February 5th at 9:30-11:30am come to the Fellowship Hall to help hem two dark green, one red and one off white round tablecloths. They will be ready for the hems to be pressed, so please bring your steam iron to press the narrow hem. Round cloths for 60” tables that reach the floor is how many inches around? FAMILY CAREGIVING STRATEGIES - SPONSORED BY Rosemount UMC CARING MINISTRIES… More than ever, families face the practical and emotional challenges of caring for aging parents or a spouse. Whether sudden or gradual, assuming these roles and responsibilities can be unfamiliar and often overwhelming, particularly for working adults. Come to a free presentation in the Fellowship Hall Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 9:30-11:00 AM to learn about resources, strategies, and insights. CARNIVALE…Carnivale is a respite care program for families with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their siblings such as a genetic syndrome, autism, ADHD and severe learning disabilities.  While the children will be enjoying an evening of fun activities and a meal, mom and dad can enjoy some time away for themselves.  Pre-registration is required.  If you are a family that could benefit from this ministry or if you would like to volunteer as a helper, please contact Gail Hoffmann, 952-322-5796 or Karen Klekner, 651-423-2475.

BIBLE STUDY “JAMES AND JOHNHere’s a dynamic duo!  The Letter of James and the Gospel of John.  Held Thursdays at 10:00am, beginning Feb. 7th, led by Pastor Rick Ormsby, meets in the home of Kathryn Cassem.

 

3M’S (Modern, Mature, Methodists) will have a fellowship meal as their February 12th Tuesday gathering.  Lunch begins at 12:30pm at Old Country Buffet in Burnsville (Nicollet Ave. just east of I-35W).  Meet there or at the church to carpool at noon.

Our best decisions about life’s most important events are seldom made in times of crisis.  “Living Fully, Dying Well,” written by Bishop Reuben Job, assists in making careful, wise and prayerful preparation for meeting life’s most important moments.  A study for ALL ages designed for a frank and open discussion about faith mortality, and living every day to the fullest.  Led by Pastor Rick Ormsby.  Meets in D-125.

CHILDREN

 

Valentine Party & Dance:  February 8th, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.  Dust off those dancing shoes and bring them with you as we move our bodies to the music selections of our own RUMC DJ.  There will be fun crafts and a cake walk, too.  Sign up sheet located at the Children’s Table.  A small family donation of $5.00 is suggested.

 

12 count egg cartons are needed by March 9.  Please bring them to the container at the Children’s Welcome table.  We will NOT need any more cartons after March 9.

 

Zone 56

 

Zone 56 kids will be going to serve at Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, February 16.  Meet at the church at 11:00 a.m. to carpool to FMSC.  We will return to church around 1:45 for pizza.  Parents can pick up at 2:30 p.m.  Info will be sent home with the kids during Zone 56.  Chaperones/drivers needed.
