NEW WINTER ADULT MINISTRIES

PASCHAL MEAL COMING FOR MAUNDY THURSDAY

The Holy Week service for Maundy Thursday will be a Paschal Meal (held in Fellowship Hall.)  Maundy Thursday commemorates the “last supper” Jesus had with the disciples on the evening before his crucifixion on Good Friday.  The Paschal or “sacrificial” meal celebrates the Jewish Passover and shows the Old Testament roots of our communion service.

The meal includes salad, fruit, lamb stew, and rice. Families with smaller children are especially encouraged to attend (macaroni and cheese will be available).  The meal begins at 6:30 p.m.  Those who choose not to attend the meal are welcome to join in the communion service at 7 p.m.   Reservations are requested.  There is a sign up sheet on an easel in the narthex, or reservations may be made by phoning the church office 651-423-2475.  There is no charge for the meal, but a free will offering will be received.

WELLNESS GROUP…Starting Monday, March 31st at 6:00 p.m. Wellness Walking Group will begin.  It will be Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays 6:00p-6:45p.  Meet at the front entrance of Rosemount UMC.  Maps of walking route will be available.  Come when you can!  Questions, contact Sherrie Holck, 952-423-4550, sholck@frontiernet.net

SERVING OTHERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES

THE FAMILY PLACEThe Family Place is a daytime shelter for homeless families in St. Paul that we have served at several times as one of our Urban Plunge sites.  We have stepped up our commitment there and are serving an evening meal about once every three months.  Our next serving opportunity for The Family Place will be Saturday, Apr 26.  If you would like to help out, please contact Tom and Linda Montgomery, coordinators.  We will car pool from the church, leaving about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr 26. We should be back at Rosemount UMC by 6:30.  Come and be the hands and feet of Jesus and help to “feed his lambs”.

Tom and Linda Montgomery   651-423-3721 or   tlmontgomery@frontiernet.net

SIMPSON SHELTER Serving of hot meals… for the month of March has been filled. The next available serving dates are April 21 and May 19.  A sign up sheet is located on the west wall in the fellowship hall. For more info contact Rich Wirt 651-322-2331.

THE CLOTHING CLOSET AT NORTH UMC takes donated clothing from the community and distributes them to low income and homeless families in North Minneapolis.  We'll be taking our donations to their church, and helping them sort donations that come in.  The clothing closet is open from 9am-12pm.  We carpool from the church at 8:15am.  We're now taking sign ups for April 5 and May 3.  If you can help at any of these times, please contact Brenda Lawrence at brendalawrence@yahoo.com or 651.454.6117.
