GDK Teachers
Lori Glitto
Hi! I come to your children with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. I have a degree in Elem. Ed. with a Child Development emphasis. I have always loved working with younger kids the most. Their precious expressions and simple views in life always keep me loving life!
I live on the Rosemount/Lakeville border with my husband, Greg of 17 years. Together we have four children, Christian, Kylee, and Lauren (almost 11) and Noah (6½). The triplets are in 5th grade at Cedar Park Elem. and Noah is in 1st Grade. Our family especially enjoys swimming and fishing together. Anything we can do outside is fun, including frog catching, our latest adventure.
In my “Mommy time” I enjoy reading, baking, crafts and most of all the quiet of God’s world. I am excited for a FUN year with your children. Blessings, Lori
Shauna Smith
Hello, I am Shauna Smith, your child’s teacher this year. This will be my third year with GDK, second year as a lead teacher. Working at GDK has enabled me to work with young children, which I love, while being home with my two sons. Noah will be a 5th grader this year and Ethan will be a 1st grader, full- time school! My husband and I will be celebrating 14 years of marriage in March. We have lived in Rosemount 10+ years and plan to stay in this wonderful community. We do venture out, with our camper throughout MN and long weekends at my parents’ cabin in Ely. Making memories is what it is all about, so I look forward to seeing your child grow as they learn and discover new things this school year.
Stacy Cobb
I am very excited to be teaching at GDK. I have experience as a childcare coordinator, and nursery worker, planning and teaching special summer classes for preschoolers, volunteering in my children’s elementary school, and large involvement in children’s ministries here at Rosemount United Methodist church. I am looking forward to helping the children grow and learn in an atmosphere surrounded by God’s love.
I am married to Tony, and we have four beautiful children; Hannah 10, Ryan 9, Abigail 6, and Matthew 3. Our oldest 3 will be in 5th, 4th and 1st grades at Southview elementary this year, and Matthew will be attending the 3 yr old class for GDK. We have lived in our home in Apple Valley for 6 years. Our children are involved in many sports so when we aren’t at home or working you can be sure to find us at a soccer field or hockey rink. We mostly just enjoy being together, in whatever way we can.
Lisa Gilbertson
Lisa is the new assistant teacher for the five year olds. She has been an active volunteer with children in District 196 since 1996. The past several years have also found her volunteering with vacation bible school, confirmation, children’s ministries, and a Brownie leader. It is her passion for working with children and her love of learning which also has her returning to school to complete her teaching degree. Lisa can’t wait to share her enthusiasm for life and learning with the children of GDK!
Lisa lives in Apple Valley and has been married to Thomas since 1989. She has three beautiful and very active children. Her oldest Cory is 16 and a junior at Eastview High School. Mitchell is 13 and in 7th grade at Scott Highland Middle School. Hope rounds out the family at age 71/2 and is excited to be a second grader at Highland Elementary. She feels very blessed to have the support of her family as she starts this new adventure.
Linda Montgomery
Linda has been a member of Rosemount United Methodist Church for 32 years, and for much of that time active in children’s ministries. She has taught and directed Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, been the Nursery and Children’s coordinators, served on the Education Committee and last year taught in the first GDK class. Miss Linda also been a licensed child care provider for the state of Minnesota and worked as an instructional clerk for Dist. 196 for 10 years.
She is married to Tom and was a stay-at-home mom for 18 years raising their four grown children. Their special pride and joy is their grandson, Milo, who is 6 and Liam who was just born in April 2007. Linda's entire life has been spent with God’s special little people and she looks forward to the joy of sharing yours!
