Emma Norton Services -serving women in the Twin Cities since 1917

Your help is vital to our continued success in helping the women and children in the community. We offer some wonderful opportunities for you to share your skills and gifts.

What can you or your group do?The following list represents some wonderful ways that you can help Emma Norton Services serve our residents. • Serve as a substitute cook, dishwasher, or maintenance person
• Serve as a receptionist at the front desk for a period of two or three hours
• Help with large mailings by stuffing envelopes, putting on labels, etc.
• Host a picnic, a birthday party, or bingo night for the residents
• Teach a skill or craft to the women residents
• Help your organization put together a work team to paint, do yard work, plant a garden, or move furniture
• Mentor a woman who needs to learn life skills from you
• Mentor a family living at Emma's Place
• Tutor a child in reading, writing, or arithmetic in our after-school program at Emma's Place
• Sponsor a family for the holidays by providing presents and dinner
• Plan, plant, weed, and tend a garden at Emma Norton Residence or Emma's Place
• And more

Holiday Volunteer OpportunitiesThe holidays can be especially difficult for our residents and their families. We currently have the following special Holiday Opportunities for December:

• Wrapping Christmas gifts for Emma Norton Services residents and families
• Decorating the Emma Norton Residence for the holidays including decorating Christmas trees
• Baking and/or decorating Christmas cookies with the residents
• Caroling or leading a carol sing-along
• Decorating Christmas stockings with the residents
• Stamping or making homemade Christmas cards
• Helping string Christmas lights on the roof of the building
• Helping with Christmas Eve activities early in the evening
• Serving the annual Christmas Eve dinner
• Answering the phone and/or door for two-hour periods
