Missions and Social Concerns is the organizing force behind projects on a local, national and international level which strive to bring healing to torn lives and the gospel to those who have never heard it. Our projects range from meeting lo
cal needs - through foodshelf drives or upkeep on a transitional housing home - to sending work teams to foreign countries.
We also help in the allocation of Missions funding. The people of RUMC support three missionaries, prepare one meal each month at the Simpson Homeless Shelter, and contribute to other important causes. Our committee suggests recipients for special offerings and follows through to make sure the money gets to the designated locations. We also recommend to the Ad Council uses for the interest off the Mission Tithe Fund each year. This fund is a trust fund, which was set up during the 1988 building campaign.
