Worship Services

Traditional Service: 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 am Sunday in the Sanctuary. *
Contemporary Service: 10:30 a.m Sunday (led by the NOW Team) in the Family Life Center. **
Mid Week Service: 6:30 pm Wednesday (Traditional and contemporary elements) . This is a shorter worship service followed by breakout groups for all ages.

The Pastor’s message is the same at all four services, but the music and worship leadership varies. Coffee and an opportunity for fellowship are available between services.

* The traditional service is led by an organist and traditional hymns are sung. A full choir and small ensemble choir alternate between the 9:00 and 10:30 traditional service.

**The NOW Team is a group of musicians and singers led by a piano, drums and guitar. In the contemporary service, the words to the music are projected on two screens as opposed to being read from a hymnal.

Our worship services are designed to: nurture people in faith, provide a strong sense of Christian identity and community and encourage work toward transforming the world by living God’s visions of love, peace and justice in our relationships and responsibilities Kids in Worship Children are always welcome in Worship. We have different ways to include the children during the service. However, if you would prefer, we have Sunday School and nursery options available.

Communion

Rosemount UMC practices open communion, which means that the bread and wine (grape juice) will be served to anyone who is seeking God’s grace, forgiveness and new life. You do not have to be a member of the church in order to participate. Typically, communion is served by “intinction.” That is, you will take a piece of bread and dip it into a chalice of juice, turn the bread over so it catches any drips and eat it immediately. There are usually several stations of two servers each. One of the stations has glasses of juice so communion may be taken in the traditional way, if you prefer.Grape juice is used instead of wine so that ALL may participate. We do not want to exclude children, pregnant women, those who may be dealing with a substance abuse issue, or any others for whom wine might present a problem. Communion is offered during the first week of each month.

“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

Baptism

Baptism is available on the third Sunday of each month. Baptism meetings with the pastor are regularly on the second Monday of the month. Contact the church office to schedule a baptism or meeting.
