January 2012 Worship

January 1st – New Year’s Day – ONE WORSHIP SERVICE @ 10:30 in the Family Life Center
Let’s kick off the new year right by beginning 2012 with prayer, praise and worship. John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Movement, designed a covenant service which is often used on New Year’s Day to dedicate all of one’s life to Christ. Holy Communion will be part of this covenant worship service.

Seek Christ. Matthew 2:1-12
Wednesday January 4th & Sunday January 8th- Pastor Karen Bruins preaching.  After Jesus’ birth, Magi came from the east seeking the one who was born King of the Jews. We sing of 3
kings but who were they really? Were there three? Were they kings? What were they seeking? How does
their earnest search for the Christ give us direction for today?

Serve Others. Philippians 2:1-8
Wednesday January 11th & Sunday January 15th – Pastor Paul Baudhuin preaching. What does it mean to
embrace Jesus’ life of service to others? What does it mean for our church to serve the needs of our community and the world with no strings attached? What does it mean to be a congregation whose mission (making disciples) exists for people who are not here yet, people and generations to come, whom we may never meet?

Celebrate! Isaiah 25:1, Zechariah 2:10
Wednesday January 18th – Karen Klekner, Director of Children’s Ministries
Sunday January 22nd – Pastor Karen Bruins
There is great joy in following Jesus! In a world that seems so discouraged and downhearted right now, how do we bring the joy that comes in being children of God?
Laughter, joy, smiles, enjoyment, celebration – these are all good gifts from God!
